Chi-Chi is the wife of Goku and mother of Gohan and Goten in Dragon Ball. The daughter of the fearsome Ox-King, she first met Goku as a child on Mount Paozu and made him promise to marry her, a promise he kept years later despite barely remembering her. As a young woman, she was a capable martial artist who competed in the World Martial Arts Tournament before settling into her role as a homemaker.

Known for her fiery temper and strict parenting style, Chi-Chi is often the voice of reason (and discipline) in the Son household. While she frequently clashes with Goku over his love of training and fighting, her dedication to her family is unwavering. She pushes her sons, especially Gohan, to focus on their education, believing that being a scholar is more important than being a fighter. Despite her sometimes overbearing nature, her love for her family is evident, and her comedic outbursts have become a beloved part of the Dragon Ball series.
