Cheelai is a former soldier of the Frieza Force who befriends Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. With her distinctive green skin, white hair, and spunky personality, she stands out among Frieza's typically ruthless soldiers. Recruited into the army to escape a criminal past, she shows immediate compassion for Broly when she discovers how he has been mistreated by his father Paragus.

Together with her partner Lemo, Cheelai helps Broly escape from Frieza's control by using the Dragon Balls to wish him to safety.
